1 Consumable Charge

With the shortfall in government funding for the 15 / 30 hours funding for term time early education, settings are left with a gap between what sessions cost to deliver and the money received to deliver care and education. Therefore, we are advised by the Department for Education to add consumable charges for anything that is offered above the care element of childcare.  You do have the option to opt out of consumable charges, however, if you do opt out, you will be required to supply the list below on a weekly basis or when required.

CONSUMABLE FEE

Sessional £4.00 a day

Half-day session (Wednesday) £2.00 a session

Full nursery day £5.00 a day

Consumable charge is inclusive of:

Nursery government subsidised funded hours (15 or 30 hrs.) are to cover the Care and Education part of childcare. The consumable charge is a voluntary payment and you do have the choice to supply all the list below if you would like to opt out of paying the consumable fee.

  • Breakfast cereal
  • Toast
  • Fruit at snack time
  • Lunch – including pudding and juice.
  • Outdoor suits
  • Welly boots
  • Forest School sessions (Supervised by a fully qualified instructor)
  • Sun cream
  • Nappies
  • Wipes
  • All open events and garden parties can be paid for on a one off basis.
  • A printout of your child’s learning journey
  • Laundry service
  • Weekly activities
  • Family App

At Leyland St James nursery, we offer a selection of plan options that will hopefully, meet the needs of all our families. We accept 15 / 30 hour substidised funding, Government Tax Free work-based voucher payments as well as the Childcare element to universal credit, university/ college funding and Job Seekers allowance funding.  

We have a selection of sessions available for families who wish to use 15 hrs. of Government substidised funding codes. Please note, we only except the minimum of 15 hrs. of government funding codes.

How to select your package

Golden Ticket

If you receive any of the following benefits or you are working and on low income as detailed below:

    • Income Support
    • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
    • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
    • Universal Credit - if you and your partner are on a low income from work (usually a combined income of less than £15,400 a year after tax)
    • guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit (or both), AND your household income is £16,190 a year or less before tax
    • you can apply for an eligibility check with us to take up a 15 hours' funded place for your two-year old.
    • If you’re a non-UK citizen who cannot claim benefits please see no recourse to public funds for more information on how to apply.

Please note, the 15 hrs. of nursery education are free of charge at the point of delivery, the price quoted is your full weekly consumable charge (refer to page 1) payable. Children who meet the eligibility criteria for EYPP funding may be entitled to further discount.

Any extra sessions will require a deposit of 4 weeks payable fees, paid in advance of starting the extra sessions.

To Secure your place

To secure or reserve a place at the setting, you will be required to pay a deposit and complete all required forms. Once your deposit has been paid and you have been informed that your required sessions have been reserved, we will require FOUR TERM TIME WEEKS OF NOTICE TO CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR SESSIONS.

Deposits required

Child attending for 15 hours per week and in receipt of the ‘golden ticket’ criteria led government funding. A deposit of £31 will be required. This will stay on your account until your last invoice which will in effect, keep your fees 1 month in advance.

Please note, we will not be able to reserve / save or secure your place at nursery until we have received your deposit.

Terms and Conditions

  1. I understand that my deposit will be deducted from any outstanding balance on my last invoice.
  2. You will be invoiced every 4th attending week and payments are required to be made on time by the dates specified. On the day of invoice, will give you a gentle reminder if payment has not been made. If payment has still not been made, and no other arrangements have been made, we may be required to put your place on hold until your account has been cleared.
