How can parents apply for the funded sessions?

Parents can apply for funded childcare sessions through the UK government’s official website. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Check Eligibility:
    • Visit the GOV.UK eligibility checker to ensure you meet the criteria for 15-hour or 30-hour funded sessions.
  2. Set Up a Childcare Account:
    • Go to the GOV.UK childcare account page and create an account. You’ll need your National Insurance number and, if you’re self-employed, your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR).
  3. Apply for a Code:
    • Once your account is set up, apply for a code to get free childcare. This code will be needed by your childcare provider to confirm your eligibility.
  4. Provide the Code to Your Childcare Provider:
    • Share the code with your chosen childcare provider. They will use it to verify your eligibility and arrange the funded sessions for your child.
  5. Renew Your Code:
    • Remember to renew your code every three months to continue receiving the funded hours. You’ll receive reminders from the government to do this.
