Hello, I’m Miss Heather – Early Years Team Leader
My journey in early childhood education began over nine years ago during my school placement at Leyland St. James. From the moment I walked through the nursery doors, I knew this was where I belonged. Following my placement, I joined the nursery as an apprentice and have since earned both Level 2 and Level 3 Childcare Educator qualifications. My dedication and passion for early years education have led me to a leadership role, where I ensure our routines run smoothly and mentor new team members.
Throughout my career, I have supported and nurtured many families and children. I am honoured by the trust families place in me, often returning with their second child and requesting my care once again. This bond and continuity are at the heart of my approach, emphasizing the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents.
One of my greatest passions is early literacy. I have been instrumental in setting up and running our family library service, a resource that encourages a love for reading and storytelling among our little learners. You’ll often find me nestled in our cosy garden shed, sharing enchanting tales and fostering a love for books with my young friends.
As a team leader, I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and included. Whether it's through the structured routines that ensure consistency or the playful, imaginative activities that spark joy and learning, my goal is to provide a nurturing space for every child to thrive.
I am excited to continue my journey at Leyland St. James' and look forward to welcoming new families into our community. My vision is to build strong, positive relationships with all our key families, ensuring each child feels safe, happy, and ready to explore the world around them.
